This week we have had lots of outside adventures!
We visited Brockholes nature reserve on Wednesday and the weather was beautiful. Firstly we celebrated Max’s birthday with cake and a drink in the visitor centre. We then all had a walk around and stopped at the bird hide. Jemma used the Merlin App to identify the birds we could hear, we also used some binoculars to see more birds on the lake. We all really enjoyed the day.
On Thursday we visited Burrs Country Park and enjoyed a lovely walk along the river. Eve used the Merlin App to identify lots of birds again.
Today some of the group went on a litter pick at Moses Gate and then enjoyed a nature walk with Michele. The group saw lots of wild flowers, a toad, squirrels, birds, empty pigeon egg and lots more. Another great nature walk.
Our other activities:
Community Zumba
Balloon tennis
Table games
Literacy
Art & Craft – We had great fun doing feet painting (Sammy’s idea!)
We finished the week with a loud, noisy but very fun lifebeats session.
