Risley Moss and LifeBeats

We have had a very busy week as usual this week.

Monday

Sammy did some work for the Community Grocery - well done Sammy! We also joined the Community Zumba class and in the afternoon we all enjoyed some karaoke.

Tuesday

We all had a drink in the Mill Cafe and enjoyed a chat. In the afternoon we all did some packing for our work experience at the Community Grocery.

Wednesday

Our day out was to Risley Moss, we first went to the visitor centre to meet Mark who is one of the rangers. He gave us a talk about the history of the area, we were told that during the second world war it was a bomb factory with its own rail network and nearly 30,000 people worked there. However, it is now a thriving nature reserve. After our talk we had a lovely walk and it was such a beautiful sunny day.

Thursday

Due to the rain we were unable to go to Wheels for All, instead we did cat bingo in the morning. In the afternoon we did football and arts and crafts.

Friday

Some of the group visited Bradley Fold Garden Centre for a drink and a look around whilst everyone else had a game of dog bingo. Eve also did some work for the Community Grocery, which involved packing and sealing. In the afternoon Alan from LifeBeats held a music and signing session for us, we all had great fun. Alan is always so enthusiastic and puts a smile on everyone's' faces! Thanks Alan!

Other news:

  • Next week we will be visiting Victoria Hall to see a Pantomime (Hansel and Gretel)

  • We will also be having a party for Halloween with pasty and peas and lots of goodies!
